This is for Chance, my nephew. I am a 19 year-old college student struggling to survive. My mother has diabetes and has had many problems with her feet and eyes. She is constantly in and out of hospitals; therefore, she is unable to work. My father offers no financial aid to our family. My sister is only 9 years-old and is in elementary school. My brother was very recently arrested for theft in order to provide for his child, my two-year-old nephew, Chance. I do not condone what he has done, but I do know that good people do bad things sometimes for the right reasons. He deserves a second chance and Chance needs his father. My nephew now lives with my family and we are in need of help. We are trying to keep custody of Chance but are now dealing with his neglectful mother who has been out of the picture for more than a year on her own accord. We need money for attorneys and just to keep up with our household bills such as: rent, car payment, electric, etc. I was an honor student in high school and graduated with a 4.25 GPA. I am continuing this trend in college, but have found it harder while trying to provide for my family and stay in school. I have already had to use most of my tuition for next semester in order to make it through the past couple of months. Now with the new financial problems I face I do not know what to do.
